LUSH Face Mask Review – BB Seaweed

A Face Mask Fit For A Mermaid Princess

Hey Beauty Addicts, I have a short and sweet review for you today.

There are a lot of things that LUSH do well, but I only recently tried my first LUSH face mask.

I know they get rave reviews, but with my sensitive, reactive and spot-prone skin, I’ve always been a bit wary.

However, good old laziness won since recently I was tired of mixing up ghassoul clay and trying and failing to create my own DIY masks out of natural ingredients.

After A LOT of online research, I went into my nearest store. There I chatted to a very helpful sales assistant/fellow LUSH junkie and finally came away with a pot of BB Seaweed. She very kindly tried it on my hand in-store, so I could see for myself how gentle it was. Of course, this doesn’t always translate for the face, so I was a little nervous, but I really wanted to try it out.

It smells very unusual. I can’t really place it, but it smells earthy, and I quite like it somehow. It might not be for everyone though.

I really enjoyed using this gentle mask.

There is a great cooling sensation when applying it, which is compounded since you must keep it in the fridge.

I had decided to use it once a week as there was one month till it expired, and one pot yielded four generous dollops of product.

By the fourth time, I have to admit the product was harder to spread, and went on much chunkier than the previous times. That is the only con I could find with this product.

I love the bits of seaweed in this mask, although I do feel a bit like Nessie the Loch Ness Monster or a swamp monster when it’s on – but that’s part of the fun for me. I also love taking time for myself when I’m using this mask to have some aromatherapy going and to sip some herbal tea while I wait.

I keep the mask on for 15 minutes, and it is quite dry by then, so I slowly wet it with water and remove it, scrubbing very lightly in circular motions to get a bit of exfoliation.

My face is ever so slightly red after that, due to the exfoliation and circulation, but once I’ve had a good sleep and wake up the next day, I can really say that my skin looks better, healthier and brighter than the night before.

I was so surprised the first time I used it, as I didn’t expect to see visible results immediately after.

This mask is definitely a winner for me, and I plan to repurchase again and again.

Plus, I love LUSH’s recycling scheme where you can bring in 5 pots and get one free.

I love what LUSH stands for and I love supporting them when I can.

And to top it off, it turns out the Japanese name for the product is 人魚姫 – Mermaid Princess. It doesn’t get more perfect than that.

Are you a hardcore LUSHie? Which masks or other products can’t you live without?

I’d love to know!

Have a beautiful day darlings!
