Saku Saku Panda Presents Suntanned Panda Biscuits

Dearest readers,

I have been away from this blog for ages and ages. I just wasn’t feeling up to it. When I’m ready, one day perhaps I will be able to talk about why, but for now I’m just trying to get back into some kind of posting schedule.

I decided to make a comeback with what I do best – Japanese food porn!

I was feeling a bit snacky at work yesterday and wandered around the Family Mart for ages and ages before finding these cookies. I’m pretty sure the shop staff thought there was something wrong with me!

Last year Saku Saku Panda also brought out a special summer edition, which you can see here.

This year’s version is just as cute. The full Japanese name is さくぱんランド日焼けカカオ, which would be Sakupan Land, Suntanned Cocoa. You can see the little guy on the front, riding the surfboard, all tanned from being in the sun. He’s even telling us “Oops, I got tanned!” What a cutie!

The little pandas on the biscuits are adorable as well, and each one is doing something different. The biscuits this time are spherical, with one half being biscuit and the other half being chocolate.

They were yummy and just the right amount in the packet.

I will leave you to enjoy the pics now!

Wishing you a gorgeous weekend and a beautiful week ahead.

Chuuu xoxo

      • Since you are a maven of make up, I was wondering. As far as removing make up, are wipes good enough or do you actually need a lotion of some kind? Has heard it said that removal wipes don’t clear off your make up just moves it around. Is this true or simply bs so that companies can sell more products? Thanks x

      • Hi lovely 🙂 Maven of makeup? So sweet of you to say so – I really do try 😉

I think wipes are okay in an emergency, but I never use them actually as my skin is sensitive and blemish prone, so I have to be really careful with what I use.

At night, if I have makeup on, I will use an oil cleanser (Shu Uemura, DHC etc) and follow that with another cleanser – I’m using a La Roche-Posay one that I’m loving. It’s a foaming one so honestly it lasts for aaaaaaages as you only need a tiny bit. In fact I always misjudge and use too much every time.
Sometimes I will use Bioderma micellar cleansing water before doing the oil cleansing and then the foaming cleanser.

If I use just my Bioderma, I can see that there is still makeup residue on my skin, and I would need loads of cotton and loads of product to get rid of all the makeup. My sensitive skin really can’t handle all that rubbing, so that done lightly (or not) and then an oil cleanse followed by the foaming gel cleanser work best for me.

Of course, everyone’s skin is different, so someone who doesn’t suffer from breakouts might just be able to use the oil only, or someone whose skin is tougher might be okay with only micellar water. If you don’t wear a lot of base/foundation, perhaps only tinted moisturiser, then something like Bioderma could suffice. I wear quite a full face of makeup so I need to do a more complex routine.

It’s really worth getting samples or small sizes of products to try out until you find a routine that works for you an your skin.

I’m always amazed at the role the climate plays and how I need to adapt my routine based on the season or even the country I’m in.

Do please let me know how you get on and let me know if you have any other questions 🙂 I’m always happy to let people know what products I’m using and what has worked for me or not 🙂 xxx
