This overnight mask was my first ever Clinique product. In fact, if I’ve kept track of my products correctly, it may be the only one I’ve ever had.
I loved the idea of it being applied and left on all night to work while you are in the arms of Morpheus getting your beauty sleep, and I have to admit that the oh so prettyΒ ballerina pink tube really appealed to me and my girly nature.
I’ve definitely found this product to pack a powerful hydrating punch, but rarely use it on my entire face. Instead I use it on my forehead and/or the smile lines area around my mouth when my skin is feeling super dry. It is absorbed into the skin quite quickly, and doesn’t feel greasy to me at all. It was definitely a skin saver when my dermatologist prescribed an acne cream that was far too strong for that part of my face. The Clinique Moisture Surge played a huge part in getting my skin back to the way it was, or as close as I could hope for, as I applied it liberally throughout the day for a few days.
It works well with my sensitive skin, and doesn’t cause any bad reactions, and I love the faint, barely thereΒ scent it has.
I can’t really confirm or deny that it causes breakouts because my skin is so problematic, but I remember thinking that I had more pimples when I was using it every day. I had also started using other products at the same time, so it’s really hard, and unfair perhaps, to pinpoint this product as the cause.
Either way, I’ve found a way to make it work for me, although at that price doing anything other than that was not an option.
Would I repurchase? I can’t say for sure. I think I would definitely shop around first and see what’s out there, but I would absolutely consider this as one of the contenders.
I hope this review was helpful to all of you gorgeous readers. If you’ve used this product before, I would love to know your experiences with it. Or, if there is a a similar product you swear by, I would love to hear about it!
Wishing you all a delightful week!
Chuuu xoxo
I haven’t tried the moisture surge. It looks intriguing. Although I do love their foundation. π
I’ve never tried anything else by them before, although a friend of mine at uni loved their foundation too π
I haven’t seen the tube packaging–I own Moisture Surge in a cute pink tub. The gel texture is attractive! Clinique is doing so many promotions at Macy’s these past few months that most of skin care products are now from Clinique! So would you say this product gets all on your pillow/bed when you use it overnight?
That’s a really good question, actually π
I sleep on my front (which is terrible, I know) so I’m sure at least some of the products I put on my face every night must end up on my pillow regardless, but when I use this it’s not like I wake up and my pillow is all covered in cream.
If you apply it some time before going to bed, rather than immediately before, it has time to sink in more too.
If you tend to sleep on your back, then you are very lucky and I don’t think there would be a problem.
I hope that helped! xxx
Oo it looks good, I’m always looking to try new stuff and your reviews are great! I like that you can leave it on at night as well.
Thank you sweetie π I’m glad you like them – I really do try π The overnight part is simply the best, ha ha!
I’ve only used one Clinique product and it was the moisture surge face cream and it was okay. I don’t think I would re-buy due to so-so results. Maybe I needed more information on it, like from a Clinique skin expert since I just picked this from my Sephora. My sister uses the 1-2-3 system and loves it. Good to know about this masque, though!! =)
It’s so tough to pick skincare. And the worst thing is when something works wonders for others but does nothing for you π
I didn’t know about this one. I switched to Clinique skincare at Christmas, I also used it 20 years ago in my teens. I liked it, but stopped using it after a scandal. Right now, I am loving their night cream “youth surge”, my skin feels lovely in the morning. But I don’t find the daycream in the same range as good.
Thanks for commenting π I love hearing about people’s experiences with products, and Clinique is a great one since I’ve only ever used one product.
Have missed you loads on the blog! π
By the way, I’m thinking of posting a beauty sale on my blog some time soon, as I really need a clear out. Would you be interested in that at all?
Aw, I’ve missed you too π Tell me more about the beauty sale!? Will you be selling items on your blog?
Yes I will π Everything has to go!
I posted about it here: https://throughthelookingglassanddowntherabbithole.com/2014/07/07/beauty-product-clear-out/
Since you’re in Japan, I could either come and meet you somewhere, or even just post it to you π
If you have any questions, please ask away π
I love Clinique, especially their dark spot corrector. I never knew they had an overnight mask… hopefully I can try it soon π
I hope you can too π I would love to know if it works for you! I’ve never tried their dark spot corrector… one day!
I really like clinique products! I haven’t tried this one yet. But I used their dramatically different moisturizer for a couple of years and the pore minimizer.
How did you find them?
I really like this product π
I like them a lot. They work really well infusing your skin with moisture and the pore minimizer is great to apply before makeup! I only stop using them because they were a little pricey in the UK.
