I was recently tagged by the lovely Soph from Little Bit Soph – thank you again for tagging me and letting me be part of this!
These kinds of questions are always really hard for me, but I did my very best. I hope you enjoy reading my answers.
1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I wouldn’t mind losing my palettes and eye shadows actually. My eyes are super hooded – I don’t think it’s humanly possible for eyes to be any more hooded than mine are – and it’s fine, but it does mean that I don’t really invest that much time or money in eyeshadow, because no one really sees it anyway. Sure they will when you have your eyes closed, but how often does that happen? If I were Sleeping Beauty, perhaps I’d choose the other option, but I’m not so this will do.
2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
How short is chopped off? I think I’d look frightful in a pixie cut, but I’d be very happy with a classy, sleek, chic bob! To never be able to cut it again means it would get crazy long, and actually, hair that’s too long, like, down to the knees, really freaks me out, so I think I’d have to go with the chop and hope bobs count!
3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I’ve only recently felt that coral cheeks look all right on me, and warm my face up nicely, but I think pink cheeks look more natural, suit me more, and are closer to the colour I turn when I flush naturally.
4. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Oh dear. I always want more new makeup, even though I may have certain items already. But, at the same time, I do find it easier to say no to clothes as I find clothes shopping so torturous. Things rarely fit right, and then I always feel like I look awful and disgusting in the fitting room lighting, and then just end up being frustrated. So, I’d probably spend it all on high end makeup (or a Burberry mac or Prada or Dior handbag!)
5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Umm, eyeliner as lipstick! Because you can get colours like plummy or pink shades, and then use them like a lip liner to colour in the lip and top it with a lip balm. That would probably work better than the other option.
6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
This is so hard! I have only ever been inside a Sephora once, and they don’t have them in Japan. Sephora probably has more options and brands, but I could probably get those, or dupes at least, from Boots, or Debenhams, or John Lewis, or a similar store, whereas MAC is only sold at MAC stores, so that gives me a loophole to say MAC.
7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
Again, my eyes are so hooded I’d be fine wearing one eyeshadow colour, something taupe-y looking and natural, and just have a blast with eyeliner and fun, vibrant lipstick. I could live with that.
8. Would you rather wear Winter clothes in Summer or Summer clothes in Winter?
Either choice seems dangerous to my health and well-being (because of the nature of the climate in Japan), so I’m disinclined to acquiesce to provide an answer to this question – and I hope my inner Pirates of the Caribbean geek quote will earn your forgiveness.
9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Another tough one… I paint my nails based on my mood, but I suppose they are more often bright than dark, so… bright?
10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
I’m trying to think but I don’t know if I have a favourite of either really. I’m quite happy to experiment with new products that are released by different brands, especially for eyes and lips as they can be quite affordable, especially in Boots or Superdrug. For example, although there is an eye primer that I use and love, I’d be quite happy to try a different one, unless of course it didn’t work as well. Then I suppose I would have an eye product that I would never give up, but we won’t know until I try! How convoluted, sorry.
