1st Blogoversary Giveaway

This past year has been wonderful one spent in the blogosphere. Since I started my blog one year ago, and wrote my first post a year ago today, I’ve had more lovely experiences in cyberspace than I could possibly have imagined. I’ve learned so much from other bloggers, discovered a myriad of new things, connected with wonderful people – I feel like I have a whole new circle of amazing friends.

If you have ever liked, commented, or even just read one of my posts, I would like to thank you so much for taking the time to do so. I appreciate every single view, like, and comment I get, and love seeing who has stopped by to take a look at the often ridiculous ramblings of the wannabe blogger I am.

Anyway, it’s no secret that this is my favourite season of the year – Christmas always makes me so happy – and to celebrate that, as well as my 1st Blogoversary, I have decided to host my first giveaway! Are you excited? Hope you are!

I’ve picked out some lovely Japanese goodies for you including: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers, a pack of gorgeous false eyelashes, D.U.P Eyelashes Fixer EX x Hello Kitty eyelash glue, and popular manga Urusei Yatsura x Creer Beaute mascara and eyeliner in adorable packaging, purple potato cookies, a Rilakkuma mechanical pencil and Rilakkuma mini memo notepad.

I’ll be hosting this giveaway via Rafflecopter, and as it’s my first time using that technology, fingers crossed. If it messes up, I’ll go old school and pull a name out of a hat.

What you need to do to enter is first, be a follower of my blog, and second, leave a comment below telling me that you are following my blog and also, as it is nearly Christmas after all, be fun and let me know the best, or worst, or funniest Christmas memory, or present, or stocking filler you’ve ever had. I’m looking forward to reading your answers!

You also need to be comfortable e-mailing me your home address so that I can send the prize to you via good old snail mail if you are the lucky winner .

The giveaway will be start tomorrow at 12:00 Japan Standard Time, be open for three weeks, and will close on January 9th.

Good luck everyone! Happy holidays and all my love to you all!

Chuuu xoxo

  1. Wowwwee, how exciting! What a lovely giveaway and congratulations! I’m a bit boring because I love everything anyone gets me! However, a funny memory is my grandad falling in the xmas tree! 🙂 Beth xo

  2. What a sweet giveaway! Mhhhh I’m a bit boring too. One thing I remember is that when I was little, I always insisted on having a nativity play for my family. Nobody liked it and all the other kids always hated the roles I cast them as (I was always the angel). I stopped organising the play when I was about 9 and I realised that people were always going to embarrass me by not knowing their lines. (P.S. I am following)

    • Thank you for entering 🙂 Don’t worry, we all did cringey things like that when were little – my thing was Christmas carols, ha ha 😀
Please also don’t forget to enter via Rafflecopter as well when it opens in 6 hours – I’m trying it out, for the first time, fingers crossed 😀

  3. My favourite memory of this time of year is being probably about 8 or 10 and getting the most amazing crayola art set ever!! The best thing was the outrageous neon paints which hadnt yet been touched because they were so precious! All presents were brought to my grandparents house in the evening to compare with the cousins…. somehow one of the younger cousins got the BRIGHT NEON ORANGE paint out of the box, opened it and tipped it out onto my grans carpet. Panic ensued among the adults and there were shouts and tears but i remember just being really sad because all the pretty orange was gone!!!

  4. Hello! Happy 1st Blogoversary! 🙂 Probably the best/worst Christmas memory I have is when I was 7 I remember crying because my parents, my grandparents and my aunts/uncles did not get me anything for my birthday. All my presents were labeled Merry Christmas and Advanced Happy Birthday! Haha

  5. Great giveaway! Thank you so much, this is very generous! 🙂 Christmas is my favorite holiday too, so cozy and festive! My funniest, and most embarrassing Christmas memory was when I was 10. My mom is obsessed with making our christmas tree look perfect every year, from bows, to specific lights, and fake snow. One year after we spent a whole night making our tree look as magical as we could, I rewind the entire tree. The next day after decorating it beautifully, my mom was at work. I thought it would be a nice idea to clean up the house, while cleaning I was on a step stool near the tree and was cleaning our entertainment system. Of course my cat Meatball came trailing along and pound at me playfully. I was knocked off the foot stool and fell directly on top of the tree and fell to the floor…with the tree. Next thing I know I am on the floor trapped under the Christmas tree and a slew of fake snow and broken bulbs. After calling for backup to lift the tree off of my body, I spent the entire night vacuuming up snow, repairing bulbs, and re decorating the tree in a frantic frenzy. Best part about the whole experience, was the fact that when my mother got home from work that night she didn’t notice anything differently about the tree, and never found out. Now THAT, is a Christmas miracle! XD

  6. Congratulations!!!!!!!!I follow your blog..of course:) I don’t have the best or the worst memory about holidays. It always was wonderful:) But I remember when I was small I drew a doll, which says mom and dad, laughs and cries, when you press her hands. me and my mom put that drawing on the window, so Santa would see what I want:) And Santa brought me that doll! I have a photo of me small sitting in a long night dress (how people call thaT?) near my doll and mandarines:) ^_^

  7. Waw, goodies from Japan. For some countries this are souvenirs 🙂
Congratulations for your blog, I realy can`t remember how you seduce me to follow your blog, but I am gald that I am here for a while.
Pls share with us much more beauty experience from Japan I am curious like hell, about fashion and make-up.
Did they have Vogue magazine there?… sure they have 😉

  8. Sweet japanese prizes! I remember laying in bed scared wondering when santa would enter my house. Our chimney was too skinny so i knew he had to get in some other way. Every time i saw a shadow i’d pull the covers over my head, convinced that it was him hiding in the darkness waiting for me to fall asleep so he could sneak by. Weird right????? Lol

  9. Happy Blogiversary hon!
My fav present (I’m TERRIBLE with memories, I should be writing everything down) is actually from this year, and it’s super tiny, my friend (whom I made into a Whovian) made me (as in HERSELF) a TARDIS bookmark. So cool.
Also, a great memory are my school Christmas Eves, which were the ONLY day a year when the nuns served US food and took care of everything.

  10. Congratulations! I’m a new follower 😉 Lovely blog! My favourite memory is probably when I was little, I heard some footsteps downstairs in the night of christmas eve, and everyone was in bed. And my cousin heard bells. It was such a nice event 🙂 xo

  11. Merry Christmas and congrats on your Blogoversary! I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog this year.

I try to be grateful for all the presents I get at Christmas, but I did get a bit of a stinker this year! Knowing I like street art, someone gave me a couple of mugs that are supposed to have Banksy images on them. That would be cool, except these pictures are awful! One if a character from Peanuts looking like he’s about to set fire to stuff, and the other is the Snowman (from the movie) er… doing another snowman up the butt! (>_<) Not something I want to serve tea out of!! I thought about giving them to the charity shop but I'm embarrassed to show them to anyone!

The best Christmas present I ever got was my first digital camera, just before my first trip to Japan. (*^_^)v

  12. Hey, congratulations on the blogaversary! I enjoy reading your blog, and appreciate you reading mine too. A few years ago I got a very bizarre Christmas present from my Grandparents. There was a beautifully wrapped box under the tree, my Grandma had stuck a sticker on it saying ‘fragile’ I picked it up carefully and thought to myself ‘could be a nice vase or ornament’ when I unwrapped it it was…… a. packet. of. Water. Biscuits. My Grandma was staring at me so I feigned enthusiasm and it’s fair to say I’m a ham actress. I kept looking under the tree for my ‘real present’ but once everyone had opened their presents and there were no more left. I realised that Water Biscuits was all I was getting this year and I tried damn hard not to look ungrateful. My Grandpa said to me ‘Sam, don’t you just love our christmas gift, we know how much you like Water Biscuits’. I lied through my teeth (fighting my inner demon, it’s not about presents – it’s not about presents) for the rest of the day people asked me about my present from Grandma and my brother looked exceptionally smug, this carried on for some time before my grandparents both burst out laughing and handed me my actual present. I still get mocked by my brother over the Water Biscuit incident, and I now receive water biscuits every year! Just as well I like ’em hey!

    • Thank you for your wishes, and sweet comment 😀
Ha ha what a lovely Christmas memory and cute inside joke – it just wouldn’t be the same without Water Biscuits anymore 😉 Your grandparents sound seriously awesome 🙂 My family always say that teasing is a way of showing love, LOL.

  13. Oh, how fun!!! Congrats on your achievement and Happy Blogoversary!!! I’m so happy I found your blog as I love your writing and you!! ❤ I think it's meant to be because I do need a new eyelash curler =) haha! jk. Congrats again!!

  14. Oh my, the things you nearly miss when you take a blogging break. Congratulations on your blogoversary, lovely 😀 You’re one of my favourite bloggers I’ve ‘met’ – I love the way you write! My favourite Christmas memory is from when I was about 8, and I was given one of those huge stuffed tigers you used to see everywhere (a white one) and my god, I loved it so much I carried it everywhere! Retrospectively, the funniest thing about Christmas was my grandmother thinking Pimms was a soft drink, and getting the children a bit tipsy… 😛

    • Thank you so much, my darling 😀 You’ve no idea how much your comment, and compliment, means to me! I’m so happy we’ve “met” as well, and I certainly love your blog too 🙂 Hooray for WordPress, the blogosphere, and new friendships 😉
I remember those tigers! I’m quite sure I used to want one when I was little, well, I’d probably even want one now, ha ha. I love that your gran thought Pimm’s was a soft drink and was encouraging the kids to drink up – hilarious! 😀
It’s a shame you’ve just missed it 😦 Make sure you enter my next one 🙂 It’s been so much fun that I’m certain I’ll host one again xxx

      • Aww, you sweetie 🙂 I was surprised how much I missed the blogosphere when I was away – I’ve had a lot of fun catching up 🙂 Now I’m worried I got rid of my tiger, I want it back 😛
As we’ve got older, my grandparents just sort of gave up on soft drinks – if you haven’t got a proper drink in your hand, there must be something wrong 😛 This Christmas was the first one where my younger brother’s been 18, and they were like ‘Yay, now you can have a drin- oh, wait, that’s not new…’ 😛
I’ll keep my eyes out – I’m a sucker for gorgeous Japanese pretties 🙂 (PS, I didn’t tell you this, but I’m soon going to hit my next follower milestone and I have a big international giveaway prepared, I’m really excited!)

  15. oh dear! it’s too late for to enter in the give away, but I have to ask it, is Rumi Itabashi no longer the producer and model for Luminous Change? I love he since the first time I saw her on egg as a ganguro T_T
